The Man of Steel has been taken over by Maxwell Lord, the sinister leader behind Checkmate and one of the main causes of the troubles facing Earth’s metahuman community. Superman is forced to hallucinate, believing Brainiac, Darkseid and Ruin are threatening his loved ones – when, in actuality, it’s he who’s causing the rampant destruction that nearly kills Batman.
Only Wonder Woman has the strength to fight Superman – and in the end, she must make a choice that will forever change how she is viewed by her peers.
